SUPER RARE Director: Noriaki Yuasa Starring: Gamera， Eiji Funakoshi， Harumi Kiritachi， and Junichiro Yamashiko Description: Original， vintage 1st release， Japanese country-of-origin STB poster for Daiei Films Kaiju classic DAIKAKJU GAMERA (1969) known in the re-edited US version as GAMERA: THE GIANT MONSTER. This was the first Gamera film out of the gate， and one of the finest and rarest posters youll find on this title! This is an amazing， 5-foot tall STB poster with Gamera tearing down Tokyo Tower. More about this unique poster format: STB/Tatekan or Tatsumi Poster (translation: standing signboard poster) are two individual Japanese B2 sized posters that were overlapped to form one vertical， approximately 5-foot tall composition. In Japan， the STB posters were displayed outside of the theaters or around town， and were later discontinued in the mid-70s because their large size blocked visibility on the streets and caused traffic accidents. Condition: FINE with excellent color， professionally linen backed and displays beautifully. The entire posters linen dimensions are 22 1/2" x 60 1/4". (The poster itself measures 20 1/4" x 57 3/4".) Prior to linen backing， the individual B2 poster(s) were folded an extra time and minor restoration was done at some fold lines. Additionally， tape was used on the face of the posters to bring them together which is documented in the listing PHOTOS， and there are minor pinholes in the linen border.
